1. What can I donate?
A: We accept
most vehicles including but not limited to cars, trucks, vans,
trailers, RV's, boats and airplanes. We currently can accept vehicles in most major centres of Alberta

My car hasn't run in years. Can I still donate it?
A: Your location will determine if we can accept a non-running vehicle. In Calgary, we can only process vehicles in good running order and condition.

3. What do I need
to donate my vehicle?
A: You would
need to sign our authorization form stating that you are giving
the net proceeds from the sale of your vehicle to the charity
of your choice. This can only be signed by the registered
owner of the vehicle.

4. What if my vehicle
is not registered?
A: Proof
of ownership is required. Therefore, we would need to see
the registration even if it is expired. If you do not have
this, you can obtain a vehicle information report (VIR) from
any registries office.

What if I do not have insurance?
A: If the
vehicle is not insured, Donate a Car Canada will assume responsibility
while the vehicle is in our care and control.

6.
How will my vehicle be picked up?
A: Depending on what part of Alberta you are at, we may
arrange to have your vehicle towed by a professional towing
company. If the vehicle is in good running condition, we can
also provide a 'hiker' service or you can drop off the vehicle at one of our sales locations.

7.
When will you pick-up my car?
A: We will
arrange to have your vehicle collected within a few days, following your completion of our paperwork.

Can you pick up my car from any location?
A:
At this time, we are only able to service certain areas of Alberta.

Can I donate my car to another charitable group?
A: If there
is a registered charity that you would like to see on our list, please
email us the information and we
will be happy to contact them.

Is my donation tax deductible?
A: You will
receive a tax deductible receipt from the charity that you
have chosen. All charities on
this website are confirmed to be registered with Revenue Canada. Back to

When will I receive my tax receipt?
A: You should
expect to receive your tax receipt in the mail within 4-6
weeks after your donation is completed.
